The PADI IDC is designed to teach you how to teach others how to make bubbles underwater!
To do this we will draw on your extensive knowledge, skills and personal strengths to show you how to teach scuba diving effectively and safely. Everyone is different and each of us have different strengths and weaknesses and we need to learn how to get the most out of ourselves.

PADI EFR Instructor
Before you can be certified as a PADI Instructor you need to first be an EFR Instructor. The Emergency First Response Instructor program is scheduled to run at the beginning of our PADI IDC as a bit of a warm up to the main event.
In Australia we are challenged with the fact that to be able to teach a nationally recognised first aid qualification you need to be qualified as a trainer and assessor and hold your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In addition to this you need to also have completed the First Aid at Work Instructor program and register with PADI’s RTO. We offer you the option to complete your First Aid at Work Instructor program and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as add ons to the EFR Instructor program.
The PADI Instructor Examination
Once you have met all of the performance requirements you will be able to take your certificate of completion and participate in the PADI Instructor Examination process. This is an independent and impartial evaluation of your teaching abilities you will be assessed on:
- Dive theory and PADI Standards and procedure
- Delivering knowledge development presentations
- Delivering confined water training presentations
- Delivering Open water training presentations
- Rescue evaluation
- General dive skills
Now don't stress at the word Examination the PADI Instructor Examiner is there to make your experience a pleasant and enjoyable one while objectivley and fairly measuring your readiness to become a PADI Instructor.
