Julian Rocks
Julian Rocks is a protected dive site about 8 minutes boat ride from beautiful Byron Bay. It has a number of dive sites around the rock and is home to masses of fish including Queensland Grouper, Blue Grouper, Turtles, Manta Rays and White Spotted Eagle Rays are seen during the warmer months. In the cooler months Grey nurse sharks can be found in large numbers with 40 being counted on one dive in July 09.
NSW Department of Primary Industries monitors the sharks movements in this location to try and gather more information that can be used towards their future conservation.
